Hiab, part of Cargotec has completed the purchase and official takeover of EFFER S.P.A. from the CTE group. The acquisition agreement was signed on July 31, 2018.
For Hiab as a global leader in load handling and manipulation, this acquisition ensures a significant step forward in the production of large cranes.
Effer is a company headquartered in Minerbio, Italy, with over 400 employees, and is a renowned manufacturer of large truck-mounted cranes, special truck-mounted equipment, as well as specially designed marine cranes, with a particular focus on cranes with a load capacity of over 100 tm. Sales and distribution of Effer products are carried out through a network of over 100 dealers in 60 countries around the world.
The merger of Effer means an additional boost to Hiab's innovation and research center, an expanded portfolio, an expanded dealer network, and increased Hiab competence. Combining the multiple strengths of Hiab and Effer will contribute to continuous growth and improvement of products, which will result in increased customer satisfaction.
Effer will continue to operate under its recognizable brand and visual identity, using its already established dealer network.

The director of Tehnika Hidraulike st d.o.o., Mr. Saša Trajković, states that the purchase and takeover of Effer by the Hiab group is a major step forward that will generate new business and increase sales of hydraulic cranes, especially high-capacity cranes above 100 tm. By merging Effer and Hiab, we have been given the opportunity to expand our range of products and services and thereby secure the leading position of the HIAB group brand in the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
