The inductive switch detects the position of a metal part without contact – most often whether the body is fully lowered or the panel is closed. It works without mechanical contact, so it does not wear out.

The contact type is decisive: a normally closed (NC) switch opens the circuit on detection. Replacing it with a normally open (NO) contact gives inverted logic and the system reports a false error.
