The clogging indicator measures the pressure drop across the filter and shows when the cartridge is saturated. Without it, replacement is done by guesswork — either too early, so a good cartridge is thrown away, or too late, when the bypass valve opens and unfiltered oil enters the system.

It is fitted to the filter housing and read visually, without tools and without stopping work.
